Can i get a template to make 1930s pattern in concrete?

Post by brissle »

Can anyone please advise whether it is possible to get a template (or whatever the word is) to imprint a pattern on to concrete?

I am patching damaged concrete in a 1930s driveway and there is an imprinted pattern I would like to match.

Photo attached to show the pattern.
The indentations are approx 2cm apart (centre to centre)

Would be grateful for any advice as to where I can obtain this.

Many thanks

To be honest it looks a little irregular and out of square so I very much doubt it was commercially made . You'd probably be as well as having a go and make one , perhaps a piece off ply with what looks like quite thick studs or nails should do the job.

Likewise. Seen that pattern lots of times, but never thought about how it's made.

I was fairly sure that such a thing existed, and the irregularity of the pattern more or less suggested it too, Mr Google did the rest.

Thanks everyone - problem solved - I shall make up a suitable block with nails as suggested - I Googled the device and it costs £175 to buy it -- OTT for a one-off job.

I knew someone would know. It's all to do with knowing what to Google........

thanks guys

Use flooring brads as the heads will give the squarish hole pattern :thumbright:

Those big square headed nails used for corrugated roofing might be just what's needed.

I realise this is a long delayed response - found all recent notifications were being dumped in Spam for some unaccountable reason.
Any way the problem solved itself - a local tool hire company in Bristol had the machine that ayjay told us about and a day's rental did the trick.

great result - thanks again, everyone.
