HDC100 Dashcam, question

Post by Someone-Else »

Thought I would ask, have any of you got a HDC100 dashcam?

I got one today (from Halfords) but most of its settings are / can be done via wifi. I followed the instructions, but can't connect to it. (tried 2 mobile phones, no joy with either) It doesn't "see" the device by its name in the manual, but I does see hdc100. (But phones will not connect to it)
Just wondering if any of you have one? (I know its a long shot)

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

No idea. I've had a few dashcams. They have all been connectable to the laptop via cable.

Link to the product you have bought ?

But it just says about it, and the manual tells you what to do, but like I said, mine doesn't connect.

As you say not much info there. Mind you 720 P is sh1t3 for a decent dashcam these days.

Loads of 1080P dashcams on Amazon with wider angle lens, better storage (the product you link to will support 32 Gb max)

(Bc master as an example} BUUUUTTTT if you need one that syncs with a mobile phone then :dunno:

It doesn't need to sync to a phone, its just that this one does, and it is cheap.

I too am on my umpteenth dash cam, they seem to fail / go wrong more than I think they should. The last one I had I was in a accident and I thought (For some time) that it was working, nope. It was on but recording nothing, the last clips it had were around about February :angryfire:
So i got the afore mentioned one from halfords because it was cheap and i figure will not last that long. Still its better than the £9.99 ones from the garage.

Mind if I ask why you have had so many?

First one had a 1080P sensor but a sh1te plastic lens and kept switching itself off ...

Second one bought about 8 years ago (Transcend drivepro 100) was fine, cost about £60 IIRC, Bought a second Transcend for the Mrs. (Internet bargain as it had been mis-priced on amazon at £ 9.99) both just front facing.

Won a cheapo 1080 P "BC-master" on you tube (used at the rear of my vehicle)

Then bought another for the rear of the Mrs. car.

First Transcend I bought is now struggling on battery life, so may need replacing soon, at 8 years old can't complain.

(though I might take it apart and see if I can replace the battery)

Sorry Fin, I'm no expert. The BC master is OK, but no battery (I prefer a battery to back up power from the car battery)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/BC-Master-Capa ... r+dash+cam

Video quality night and day is excellent.

You have to buy a micro sd card on top of the purchase price.

The Transcend cameras (cheapest here) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-Driv ... d+dashcams

Have a battery backup and include a 16 Gb card.
