Plasterboard over slightly wet wall

Last weekend I installed a new shower valve, I went away for a night and a slight leak has soaked into the wall, which I have been trying to dry out in the few days since.

I was hoping to finish the installation of the shower this weekend, which would involve installing plasterboard over the studs on the wall, then a shower wall board ontop of that.

I was wondering whether I can do that with the wall still being a bit damp or whether this is a terrible idea?

Probably best to let it fully dry. Are you certain there are no remaining leaks/weeps ?

what have you been trying to dry out? a masonry wall,studs?what about the floor and any ceiling below?
is there another wall behind the valve position?

if ypou leave wet work overnight then isolate the supplies.

You would be surprised what a heater and a fan can do to a wet wall.

Even defrosting the freezer, a fan blasted at an iced up freezer will defrost in no time at all

Just trying to dry the wall (concrete block), the studs and floorboards have already dried.

Luckily the bathroom overhangs an alley (between houses on a Victorian terrace), so the water from the leak just ended up outside, the "ceiling" of the alleyway is just a sheet material (can't remember which one off the top of my head) so I will investigate later and replace if need be.
