Confused over Intergas Warranty.

Post by paulj48 »

HI, I’ve just had a local Gas Safe plumber who supplied and fitted an Intergas Eco RF30, this was the first one he’s fitted but fitted to the instructions and filled in the book.

I did try and find an P5 installer but found it either impossible to get someone to quote or they just quoted silly prices so I was happy when a local plumber agreed to the job.

I’m now confused over the length of warranty as the instructions say 2 years plus an extra year for the online registration (which I’ve just done) but I’m reading elsewhere that warranty can be 10 years without a P5 installer, is this correct or is this just for the heat exchanger?

Also the instructions say the warrenty says ‘parts only’ so how does this work, do I have to pay Intergas for the callout and labour?

Cheers.

As Dave said any Gas Safe person can get ten years parts and labour out of the box on the ECO RF as long as it's registered with Intergas within 30 days of installation :thumbright:

Cheers, how can I check if he has apart from asking him?

Edit: also why does the website not mention it and says it’s parts only and only the heat exchanger for 10 years?

Was thinking that but due to data protection I wasn’t sure if they’d tell me.

Call the office on 01527 888000 and they will be very happy to tell you if it's been registered or not. You will also get a letter confirming your warranty

Daft question but I've registered as the customer on the website using the 'consumer' tab. I've just clicked the 'installer' tab and it would allow me to register in that section as well, As I have all the information needed should I just do it myself?

Just an update for any other confused potential or new customers, I have rang Intergas and as I have registered the boiler myself within 30 days I do get a full 10 years parts and labour warranty on the Eco RF, the engineer does not need to register it with Intergas for the warranty although by law he will be registering it with Gas Safe.
