Table Saw Recommendations

Hi.

For the last few years I have been using a Clarke CTS10D (10") table saw (https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/cts10d-10in-table-saw/).

I have now got to the point where I either want to upgrade individual parts or invest in a new machine.

I am hoping the kind members of this forum will be able to advise me on which would be the best financial option.

Below I have listed a couple of points that I wish to address by either replacing or upgrading.

1. Aluminium Top - I wish to replace this with cast iron as the wood can get stuck in the aluminium channels. Unfortunately after heavy internet searching it seems you can't buy replacement tops so I guess this means a new machine...?
2. Metre Gauge / Saw Fence - My current measuring tools are made with flimsy plastic / aluminium. The fence adjustment slide is very temperamental and inaccurate (even after adjustment). I like the look of the INCRA measuring fences, do any other manufactures offer a similar thing?
3. Size - I would ideally like to keep the same footprint (950mm x 635mm) as I have a small workshop. I am aware that an upgrade would probably be larger so this is not a make or break point and I would rather go larger if it means higher quality!
4. Router Combination - After a little internet searching I have seen that some extension wings have been fitted with a router attachment. This is something I would be very interested in (if it would fit). INCRA & Bench Dog seem to other this.
5. Overhead Dust Extraction - Not essential but it would be a nice bonus.

I am aware I could make some of these parts myself but as time is sparse at the moment I would rather pay a little more for quality parts / machine.

my thought but could be wrong
you wont get a hobby saw with cast iron top
spares will often be few and far between if available probably cheaper to buy new
problems off cutting small sections safely can be sorted with with a ply/mdf board with a lip run over the saw to cut to size to fit between fence and side
then a further pass onto the blade to cut the slot into the board to give support both sides off the blade
also a rough idea what you are trying to make accurately may help with our suggestions

Thanks for getting back to me and after some in depth searching I believe your right.

I'm ready to make the move up to a more 'professional' saw as I cut lot's of different materials from Rosewood to MDF (generally not in huge sheets).

I've come across the Charnwood W629 (https://www.poolewood.co.uk/product/cha ... -saw-w629/) which seems to suit my needs. I think I would replace one of the wings with the Bench Dog 10 -102router table extension (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192288142520).

Any thoughts on the quality of construction, fences, durability etc?
