Hi
We have just purchased an Ikea Mostorp Wall Shelf (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/...o ... -10295704/), and I need some advice on how to safely fit it to the wall.
It is 22kg, max load 35kg (although I don't think we'll load it up that much), and has 2 fixing points which look like this: https://imgur.com/a/P4uOE
The smaller section of the key hole bracket (part 103693) is 6mm wide, so will take a 5mm screw (and maybe a 6mm screw..?).
The wall is plastered brick (1960s ex council flat).
What fixings do you think I should use?
I found the below Fischer fixings (UX 10x60 R S), but the screws are too thick for the small part of the key hole bracket. Will that matter?

Thanks all!

It definitely matters: the head of the screw needs to fit through the larger (round) part of the keyhole bracket and the shank of the screw needs to be a good fit in the narrower section.Mat100 wrote:Hi

The screw that is shown in their example is a *Pan head screw*, a countersunk screw is shown as not being suitable.
One day it will all be firewood.

you wouldn't need a ux10mm to hang that in brick, 8mm is more than enough. UX8 get a good grip!

Re: Ikea Mostorp Wall Shelf Fixings
Thanks. I've gone for Fischer UX8 with some pan head screws. I was having difficulty finding pan head screws long enough, but our old school local hardware shop had some. Walked in, showed the guy the fixings and back he came with the right ones - 12 x 2.1/2". I'll hang it when I can get a hand holding the thing up...
