Hi, some advise please.
I was trying to chisle out a recess for a power socket in our hallway wall. It is a single layer brick wall and one of the bricks has come loose as I chiseled. All the mortar has come away around it.
Is it safe just to put fresh mortar around the loose brick? Is there any risk of the wall cracking if I repair it straight away?

Thanks for any advice offered.

Re: Loose brick by interior door frame
One loose brick is not going to cause any trouble, clean out the area and put it back in with some mortar. You might well find it needs to be done in 2 stages, coming back after it is firmed up to pack in a bit extra, thats what I had to do but then again I am no brickie
Looking at your picture though there is quite bit of missing material, be sure to tidy that up at the same time. A small pointing trowel will help you pack morta into all those open joints.
