Fan in a bathroom is not working. I haven't checked anything and can't till tomorrow but would like some ideas as where to start.
The fan is 12V as says on the fan (low voltage, assume this is ac not dc?), transformer in the loft plus spur fuse.
I need to check the fuse first then if fan is faulty, would the transformer go faulty?
If output voltage at the fan shows around 12V ac on my multi-meter, is it enough to confirm transformer is working?

If transformer isn't working there'll be 0v at the fan.

Highly likely the transformer has turned it's toes up yes. All transformers are AC.
Equally likely is the fan motor/pcb itself.

It was the transformer, the most awkward one but had to be replaced, all working and job done.
