Matching Old Tiles, have barcode

Post by DIY_Johnny »

Hi all I need to replace tiles around a window reveal. i have half a box of the original tiles. Is there anyway to get a similar product? Is there some website one can check?

I checked a few stores but no luck so far

Well all I did was put the barcode into google and it came up straightaway as being at your biggest local diy shed. You could have done that.......

thanks Arco, maybe I should have been clearer. I did that actually but it's old stock and no longer produced in B&Q, so my question is whether there is some way of finding un update or closest match. B&Q just said no the isn't.

Like anything else there are fashions that come and go in tiles. If they were made in the UK you might have been in with a chance, but being made in Malaysia I think it's very unlikely, they probably produced umpteen thousands as cheaply as possible just for B&Q and then moved on to something different.

I think I'd be looking for something else and just do the reveals in either a contrasting tile or something as close as you can get that doesn't look oddly different.

Take a tile with you and go to the largest supplier you can find locally, and/or (hang some curtains so you never have to see the reveals).
One day it will all be firewood.

Oh, sorry - I found the item easily but didn't try to 'check stock'. Strange they are still on the website, then?

There standard white ripple tiles take one into a tile shop (tops tiles, etc), there is a place in Dartford, kent that stocks end of line tiles dating back 20-30 years

To avoid having cut tiles on external corners, I once did a bathroom reveal with upvc cappit fascia board & adhesive - it was still good when I sold the house 12 years later.

Yeah when I rang Band Q they said that it was discontinued years ago and page is just an archive page.

I went to Topps Tiles today and they had a very similar one. Got lucky, grabbed a box

@Bob225

I had the exact same tiling in my old house sold in 2010. I left the spares in the loft. I wonder if they are still there ?
