Concrete floor with no DPM

Hi all

My sister has just bought a 1930 house with a solid concrete floor in the kitchen which doesn't have a DPM apparently.

She has been told that the floor needs asphalting to make it sound. I thought about using a tanking paint/ sealed. I think someone is coming to pride on Sunday any advice would be appreciated.

a liquid dpm is an option.

It somewhat depends on what happens where the floor meets the walls. You want to proof the floor and make the damp migrate to the edges and up the wall plastering

is there damp there now?80 or 90 year old concrete floors in kitchens are better cracked out an new slab laid on dpm. you might find damp in lower walls at skirting.is outside groundd higher or level than floor level?
