My objective was to measure relative wind speed (not absolute) at low velocities.
Via a small protection circuit it would feed a analogue sense pin on an Arduino.
This would read the voltage every second bla-bla-bla.
Anyhow, total cost, less than 50£ (including Arduino) and I guess estimate it would have had the power to charge a single AAA even in low wind...
If you scale it a couple of orders of magnitude, to the motor of a broken 18V cordless drill, you should be able to have a nice experimental rig.
