weed membrane

Post by caravan72 »

Hi Guys, I was in B&Q today looking for the above found one that was 30m x 1m and the cost £44!
I don't remember it being that expensive the last time I bought some, well, that was about 12 yrs ago.
It was the woven criss cross type rather than the mesh type net type.
Anyone on here recommend any particular brand or make, or what would you use?
It will be covered with decorative stones or gravel.

Thanks in advance

I prefer terram geotextile, much tougher than the black woven type

Mini packs are good value

Always shop around, even on ebay. Don't think that with gravel and a membrane you will have no weeds, weeds being weeds can and will appear from nowhere, grow in nothing and be annoying. :sad10: The thing that gravel will do is to collect tiny amounts of dust, added with the rain this also gives the weeds something to grow into.

That said I really like having a garden that is all gravel and no grass to grow even if I did wheelbarrow in around 6 tonnes of it.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Terram every time for me!
Covered with gravel or bark chips.
Should you ever wish to introduce a plant, just cut a cross in thee fabric and plant it pulling the covering material up to the plany base.
