Makita/Site Tools

Post by mrx01 »

Hi. This is my first time on his forum, so here goes...

My old, cheap, supermarket cordless combi drill packed up the other day, and I know that the "Site" range of combi drills sold by Screwfix and B&Q are made by Makita, but are they of the same quality? I am only a "weekend warrior", as they say, but will need to drill holes in all types of materials, i.e. masonry, wood etc with relative ease, so would anyone be able to recommend a drill to suit this purpose for around £100?

Thanks.

hi
i think the site tools are lastyears version of the makita.

if i was you id get the 14v site drilldriver
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/83288/Pow ... ill-Driver

then id get a dedicated masonry drill seperate,
the drill driver hammer action only seams ok on block imo

dead link removed
i know its afew quid over budget but first time you need to drill brick or concrete it will save a struggle
