How to fill in hole in external wall

Post by spr0ut »

We had a new toilet fitted this week and the waste pipe needed adjusting. As a result, the old wast pipe is redundant but still in the wall. We therefore have a hole on the inside (which I can just fill with pollyfilla before decorating) and a hold on the outside brick wall.

Once I've removed the pipe, what is best to fill in the brick hole?

If you have any matching bricks, chop out the old one (stitch drill the joint and then use a plugging chisel) and replace.
One day it will all be firewood.

If not a load of cement (and sand etc)
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

I don't unfortunately. Didn't know if there was just a simple filler to use? Should I try and fill the whole gap all the way through, or just at each end?

You can buy a small bag of mortar mix which will give you some cement to fill the hole. You can rub some brick dust on the surface as it is setting to disguise it a bit.
