Strange way to tile or not?

Post by Nos »

The tiler has started to do the bathroom, all the house floor tiles are down and very nice, the thin joints are straight and even, despite the fact that they didnt use any space's, the tiles were straight edged as well so all done by eye. I would have thought for the bathroom walls they would have used plastic space's, but no they have used string  its like butchers string and it works :thumbright: is this method usual or just a French way of tiling ?

Sounds a good idea, hate those + plastic spacers they get everywhere, will try on my bathroom tile job next year if others sing along.

Strange way to tile or not?

Think that it's the old school way, I have seen it done with pegs (match stick size)

How did the Romans do their tile spacing ??
