I think if the guys had been provided with less tea and cake the garden might have been finished early , they are now on diets

Turf to go down when the hot weather breaks

A photo of the grass now laid.

They guys actually watched the turf being cut on the farm in the morning and laid it in the afternoon, Sutton Cambridgeshire

It’s been down a week and had hundreds of gallons of water applied daily

Another update , didn’t like the rear of the existing fence behind the raised beds , and it was bit low.

So purchased 500metres of 50 x 25 treated roof batten and added horizontal slats all very in vogue.

Then we needed to secure the side access, so a few fence posts and used the last of the battens along with a new gate, this gave semi open but secure look.

I like it, but wouldn't want to be the one who has to "paint" it.

Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

There is a debate about painting it , leaving it to weather or treating it.

The timber is treated tantalised so nothing needs to be done and being above ground is likely to last a few years and see me out!

Very nice job that is.
Leave it to weather for looks and ease of maintenance for me.

Looking good. Is the decking surface textured to provide a grip in wet weather?

Hi Daveyted, yes it is grooved and a fairly rough surface. It’s a composite material. This morning it is soaked and no more slippery than the concrete paving slabs elsewhere in the garden

Hi there sparky,

It took a couple of weeks, lots of ground work, to remove old conservatory base and footings , huge pond that had been filled in with all sorts of rubbish including several carpets, a huge pile some might call a rockery, 6 tree stumps including one that needed two hours with a 2.6 tonne digger and 3 18 yard grab lorries full of debris.

I am doing the side now along the bungalow and front.

We thought it was a small garden but it transpires that it is large !!!!!!, and gets bigger every time we sort a bit more.

With un -groved / -textured wood decking what would be a non-slip solution, please?
