I sell the odd thing on Ebay but very rarely particularity when Ebay charge you twice on Ebay selling fees and then PayPal fees who are also owned by Paypal.
I sell a few things on Gumtree. Yes you do get the odd chancer but I just ignore them.
I sold a drill last week on Gumtree.
Random guy- 20
Me- 20 what
Random guy- pounds for your drill
Me- 50
Random guy- But you have it advertised for 40!
Me- Yeah but it's 50 for you
Random guy- w*nker
I eventually sold it for £40. No haggling. .
I want to scream again, who wants to join me?

Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

Paypal was split off in 2015 and the contract with ebay ends in 2020 as its primary payment method iirc ebays fees are around 9.5% and paypals is 3.8% unless you have a traders accountArgyll wrote:I sell the odd thing on Ebay but very rarely particularity when Ebay charge you twice on Ebay selling fees and then PayPal fees who are also owned by Paypal.

But are they actually separate company's? Since Ebay force you to offer Paypal as an option I would think they must be in cahoots.Bob225 wrote:Paypal was split off in 2015 and the contract with ebay ends in 2020 as its primary payment method iirc ebays fees are around 9.5% and paypals is 3.8% unless you have a traders accountArgyll wrote:I sell the odd thing on Ebay but very rarely particularity when Ebay charge you twice on Ebay selling fees and then PayPal fees who are also owned by Paypal.

Mixed results for me on eBay. I've had horror sales too but plenty of good transactions.
But........ not sure about recently but at one time if you put "no PayPal" anywhere in your ad they cancelled the listing.
