FITTING KITCHEN TAP
Hi, I have been looking at videos on how to fit kitchen tap and replace my old one, the problem is all the connections in the videos are the same and mine are completely different to these, the show the connections with the water valve. Can anyone advise as to how I remove tap from this set up and replace it with new one? I know its a stupid question lol. Picture of how my set up is.

Re: FITTING KITCHEN TAP
Probable similar to a bath tap installation later video but might be all brass like in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w13-vvDWKJA

So you need to select a similar tap or face changing the copper underneath to accommodate smaller tails.
You will however still need to isolate the hot and cold supplies.

Re: FITTING KITCHEN TAP
Hi thanks Wes56 for the reply, below is the current set up. The new tap we are going to get will also be a mixer tap like the one we have now. It will probably have flexible hoses. Am I able to cut this tubing and install isolator valves and if so how would I do this and where cut?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: FITTING KITCHEN TAP
assuming your new tap has flexi tails, get a pipe slice (15mm) water off, and cut the pipes at a sensible place where you will be able to fit and access the isolation valves. (you will still get some water from the pipes above the cut so some old towels will come in handy.
remove old taps but keep the copper... you will need a short piece to go into the top of the isolation valve just long enough to connect the new tap tails.

Re: FITTING KITCHEN TAP
Hi thanks for the reply, one final question, I have now bought the tap and have flexi hose one. When I fit these are these allowed to have a bend in them? Or do they need to be straight? Thanks in advice

Re: FITTING KITCHEN TAP
They can flex or curve but not kink, think of a garden hose but a kinked flexi could burst.

Re: FITTING KITCHEN TAP
So am attempting this, cant get the bolt off theunderside of the tap. Am using tap spanners but the bolt is not budging, as you can see it is rusty under the sink due to a leak. I have smothered it in wd40. Any suggestions on how to get this bolt off? Thanks in advance
