Very confused!

The boiler should heat the cylinder if you set the times, save the expensive immersion heater for emergences.

So the switch on the consumer unit and the switch in the cupboard is just for the immersion heater? And it will be cheaper if I turn that off?

Correct and considerably cheaper than using the boiler.

Make sure the boiler is still working just in case.

The boiler still works when using the central heating. I'm just gonna test it all day and see if the cylinder works at the set times. Will let you know how it goes!

Well thanks for all the help :) I'll click the thank button. It's been a right nightmare, just needed to turn of a couple of switches, lol. Anyway yeah I'll keep you updated!

Why do you think the cylinder is heating when the programmer says its off?
