What is that stuff? If it's of any help I think the house was built in the early 70s. It's quite tough and doesn't crumble. I could find some good uses for it.

I can only hazard a guess that those boards were at one time dot and dabbed elsewhere and then removed and used where they are now.
That would make the glue either the correct stuff for dot and dab or just some sort of finish plaster, from the colour, my guess there would be Sirapite.
Dot and dab was a fairly new method back in the early 1970s.

One day it will all be firewood.

Doesn't look like it's available now, but google *sirapite plaster* if you want to know a bit more about it.
It's not really a glue/adhesive though, and whatever you want to stick there's probably something better available now.

Thanks Bob, I'll get a bag and give it a try. I think it will come in handy when fixing my screwed up walls.Bob225 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 5:13 pm its common name is plasterboard adhesive it sticks like $%^£ to a blanket
