Dripping Tap ( Recurring Problem )
Our kitchen tap is a Franke Ascona which frequently drips from the spout ( cold side ). I've replaced the ceramic valve a couple of times which cleared the problem up for a while before it recurred. It started dripping again about 4 weeks ago so I removed the valve & cleaned it. Solved, but it started dripping again yesterday.
This tap has been fitted for about 7 years. Before it we had an Ikea mixer which had to be replaced because of dripping ( the ceramic valves were non - replaceable ).
My pet theory is that our water supply ( normal mains ) is prone to getting sediment in it which gets into the ceramic valves. We've had no problems with the upstairs bathroom tap. The mains water pressure seems very high. ( Makes for a great shower ).
I've been wondering if some kind of water filter fitted before the cold tap would help?
Any advice / thoughts appreciated.

Dripping Tap ( Recurring Problem )
You could try fitting a Y strainer, with in-line valve, as you would need to clean it regularly if you do indeed have a lot of sediment in the water.
