I know we didn't have electric only a wind up gramophone. IIRC pop records weren't released on 33 1/3 rpm!

:dunno: wasn't a big fan of Chuck (Charles) Berry TBH... But if someone was to tell me that Bob Marley has died... then I'd be really upset.

Like you Al, I thought he'd gone years ago, 90 is a good age for a rock n roller. Didn't like all his stuff but he was a showman!

Au contraire....

I recall buying such records that had two or three tracks on each side (probably a precursor to the Now! series of song collections) that ran at 33-1/3 rpm.
Don't take it personally......

He was still doing a gig once a month in 2014, (according to Wiki), and was planning to release a new album this year.
One day it will all be firewood.

I remember the interlude when Shellac 78s were replaced by Vinyl 78s. At times they ran in parallel with vinyl 45s.
I saw Shellac records being used for Clay pigeon practice, practice, but never being made into plant pot holders - FAR too brittle :lol:
