Eric Clapton - Ya Total Bell End

Post by dynamod »

200 mile round trip
£120 on 2 tickets
£100 on hotel
£30 on petrol
£40 on meal

And 3/4 of the way into his set at Glasgow Hydro on Saturday night, gets a sound problem, leaves stage, comes back, does 1 more song, throws a paddy, puts his coat on and leaves. House lights go on, techs start dismantling the stage with 35 minutes still to go.

The booing was epic.

Eric Clapton, you can play the guitar, sure.......................but that is no way to treat the people who have made your lifestyle possible, by giving you their hard earned.

People dropped a small fortune to see you. Be professional FFS, and keep yer toys in the pram next time Ya Big Bell End. :angryfire:

Really sad to find out that a performer of that stature can be so very unprofessional - I've seen bands in the past who just sat and played acoustic while techs sorted a problem out - or who just took an unscheduled break and came back and gave extra.

I once saw Julian LLoyd-Webber (about 30 years ago, when he was still an up-and-coming not-quite-star), and halfway through his recital a string on his 'cello snapped, and whacked him round the ear - which has to be painful - and he just sat and chatted to the audience about the next piece he was going to play, while a tech re-stringed for him.

Clapton could have turned that into a good experience for everyone, just needs a bit of respect.

Deep Purple used to fake technical problems so Jon Lord could do little organ solos and introduce bits of classical music to their rock audience.
