New wall ties

Post by Jaytee73 »

A wall tie contractor has been to my house and said that the wall ties need replacing.
I can ask him this next week, but there are a few spalled bricks on 0 walls and they don't really bother me so I'm not going to replace them

I wondered, if I go ahead and have the new wall ties, if I then decide to replace these spalled bricks, would I then have to check some of the wall ties again. The contractor said that I get a 30 year guarantee but if I make any changes, the bricks and possibly repointing, does this alter things?

Thanks

Why did you ask to have the wall ties replaced ?

What is the reasoning behind this contractor quoting for this work, what is the evidence showing this needs to be done ?

Have you taken further advice on this matter from an independent person ?
