Half done paper mural

Post by EnglishDai »

I'm currently putting up a mural - TBH, with each piece 4ft X 5ft, it's too much for a middle aged guy with a heart condition, especially on top of a step ladder ::b

Anyhow. . .

Had to stop doing piece 3 ½ way through, so middles ok and stuck on wall with 2 edges pasted and dried but not stuck to wall, so with shrinkage is now all curly and brittle.

Can I rescue it? Thinking soaking with a sponge, but will a new coat of paste stick wet paper? Or will there be enough moisture in paste to expand/stretch paper?

Cheap spray bottle from a hardware store and mist it lightly several times back and front till it is pliable then paste it would be my plan.
