Painting toilet seat
Hi everyone
In my flat the previous owner had replaced the toilet seat which has now begun to fade and go yellowish. It seems like it's reasonable quality (quite heavy, dunno if it's maybe ceramic or porcelain) so I'd like to paint it to refresh it to match the still-white main toilet.
Does anyone know what type of paint I need? And would it be possible to use a spray-able paint which would hopefully be easier?
Thanks for any help

Toilet seats are so cheap it s not worth the effort painting it. They are usually quite easy to fit and held on with a couple of wing nut type bolts just under the hinge location on the pan. Have a look at Screwfix https://www.screwfix.com/c/bathrooms-ki ... t_by=price they start at £7

Just get a new one.
Painting's not worth the trouble, and if they're painted they look pretty nasty when they get chipped or wear.

If you go and buy a replacement toilet seat, take a photo of the existing one because there are slight variations on shape and when you get to a store the range can be confusing .

Also, a template made of card or paper tracing the outline of the pan helps. If you get the old seat off you can include the holes on the template as well.

Yes this is important, it was a struggle for me to find a replacement seat and having a template helped. I found a sheet of newspaper to be the ideal size and it folds up small to go in your pocket when out shopping.dewaltdisney wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 2:21 pm Also, a template made of card or paper tracing the outline of the pan helps. I suggest you don't use a sharpie to trace though, otherwise you end up with a black ring around your existing seat, good job we found a replacement quick! lol
