Hiya!
Hope you are all well.
The room was plastered and been painted a while ago and I'm fitting some new sockets and a light switch. These are a bit smaller than the ones already on so I'm going to have to paint under/around the area. The problem is that this is bare plaster. Would it be OK to just use normal paint on this area or should I use a bare plaster coat and then put paint on? I'm also thinking to use masking tape since the area is square or will that stand out? If I need to use bare plaster paint first then would it be OK mask the area off for that?
Thanks!

I'm not a decorator so won't answer the paint query, there is an option with backing plates that would cover the unsightly areas https://www.amazon.co.uk/Double-Single- ... 7144654468
The Barman says, "I'm sorry, we don't serve time travellers". This time traveller walks into a bar.
