Painting Bedroom Furniture

I'm planning on spray painting some solid oak bedroom furniture grey in the near future. I've never sprayed furniture before so I'm looking for some tips on what products and methods to use for the best end result. I have a Devilbiss FLG5 with 1.4 & 1.8mm tips. I'm looking for products with drying times on the quicker side as preferably I'd like each unit done within a day. I want a satin finish and a long lasting, durable end product.
I'm also willing to paint by brush & roller instead if a smooth strokeless finish can be achieved. Any advice?

You might want to have a read of my link in blue below. Spraying is such a pain, Bin can be sprayed but it is difficult to get the viscosity right and the paint is thin. It is a slog to clean the spray kit each time. Use mini rollers, it is easier.

Why would you cover beautiful Oak with paint?!

Joking aside, I've found a couple of youTubers with practical advice on spraying: Gid Joiner, Peter Millard, and Freebird interiors. If you scan their video uploads, you'll find some demos of spraying.

Was beginning to think spraying was going to be a pain. Will probably get some quality sleeves and brush instead.

Haha, probably a sin to paint over this good oak furniture but I just don't think it goes with the current room. What you think?

I think the oak finish looks better personally. I think it'd be too grey if you were to paint it. It adds a bit more color to the room as well.

I am a big fan of white bedroom furniture and if it was pine or some dark depressing colour, I would say go ahead. However, in this instance it is a nice light bit of furniture and it really does not deserve a paint over. Could it be put to use in another part of your home and you get a purpose built white unit for the bedroom?

I would consider stripping back the existing finish and then go with something like OSMO oil , one of the very light ones maybe that has a white tint , so allowing the oak to shine through but with a more contemporary look similar to the photos posted by Yartin.

I fully agree with this.
It really is some lovely oak you have there - please consider doing the above instead of painting it.

Thanks for all the advice

. Ok, I'm going to leave the furniture as is and sometime down the line, I might cut back the existing finish and put down a nice non yellowing oil.
