Wooden front door paint

Hi my old front door needs some attention its white at the moment and I would like to change the colour to black what would be the best way to go about it ? a good sanding then primer and top coat or is there a good all in one out there? think the old paint is solvent based gloss so I'll need something that's gonna stick to it
