dewalt framing nailer

Post by Lloydeverson » Sat Mar 30, 2013 11:18 am

iv just purchased one of these a couple of weeks back and i cannot sing its praises enough. i also have the paslode 350 and the makita framer. the dewalt is head and shoulders above both in my opinion.
iv had nothing but problems with the makita.
paid 500 plus vat and got a free box of 90's from mkm.

........especially in the weight department, (from memory) it's a kilo heavier than the Paslode - for me, that all adds up over a few hours.
One day it will all be firewood.

I've heard of issues with these dewalt guns driving 90mm nails. Are any of you guys experiencing issues? I nearly flung my Hitachi gas nailer this week after letting me down a few times.

I have the Dewalt DCN 690 and it is brilliant. I have used it with 90mm ring shank nails, if you are not nailing into something completely solid the gun can bounce leaving the nail slightly proud of the surface. I have fired a few 90mm ring shank nails that have stopped dead, you cannot even knock these in with a hammer as they have hit something very hard such as another nail or knot etc.

Here is my first review-

Of all the tools I own this is one of my favourites :thumbright:
