Hello All.

Please can anyone tell me how to operate my PIR lantern which has a switch set up, rather than the usual 2 dials?

The image shows the settings as delivered.

No instructions to tell me what the symbols officially represent, though it is probably common sense.

I don't know which one is for sensitivity (as in movement trigger).

Thank you.

What does google show in regard to the instructions? (I would have looked but you do not give any information about the actual light)
If you still can't find any information on the light, I suggest you buy a new different one, or better still, do as I suggested last year, buy a light AND a PIR

I hope you do. But bet you won't.

There is no "standard" as to what the switches do, as I said 6 months ago, why not try the switches and find out what they do. Now you know why it only cost £12.

my best guess would be
DIP switch 3 to 6 - time the light is on
the 8,1.3,5 have the seconds and minutes symbol
8'' seconds , 1' minute, 3' minutes , 5' minutes - BUT how they combine when more than 1 on , not sure

The sun and moon would be the light sensitivity setting , switch 1
The movement Detection area/sensitivity is the symbol used for switch 2

my best guess
make and model of the PIR may help , as there is a lot of user manuals online

you can some of the symbols used on this device - see image for DIP switches

Thank you eTaf.

Your advice is an immense help, especially with the amazon link. A brilliant find!

That is how I read the switch display, so I suppose a little bit of trial an error.

I am also guessing that switch 2 is the trigger sensitivity for the distance.
