on the kitchen i am doing i have had the hob fitted. a halogen type. anyway to heat up the room today i put on all 4 rings. after about ten minutes smoke started to come out of the ga[p between the oven and the worktop. i pulled out the oven and the smoke was coming from the hob. also the underside of the hob was red hot. i have never checked this before, is it normal.
anyway i phoned up howdens who put me in touch with manufacturer. they are sending an engineer out after saying some smoke is likely when new. maybe some but this seemed to be excessive.
has anyone any ideas if this is normal as i have never witnessed it before but i dont recall fitting a halagon before?
