Asus VK228 Monitor volume adjustment woes

Hello good folk of the tech ken.
Treated myself to a 21" monitor with built-in webcam(yet to test that). Disappointed. Print is slightly blurred and people look fat!
Main problem is I can`t suss the volume. I`ve plugged it into my old Dell Desktop, green hole to green hole. Volume works but is very quiet. I went into the computer`s control panel and pushed all the volumes up to max, same with one on bottom right of screen to 100%. I`m flummoxed, even checked out some youtube vids. Monitor buttons don`t seem to have anything for volume.

Have you checked OSD on the monitor usually there is a volume control - If its a no name monitor it may have a physical volume control, Windows 10 ? if so look at the advanced scaling options if its blurry - If not make sure you are running the latest drivers for your graphics card

Make and model of display ? Connection type eg. vga, dvi or wet string

Haven't got a clue about the sound.
Display fuzzy and stretched will probably be running the wrong resolution.
Look in the manual, it'll tell you what the native or preferred resolution is.
And about the sound I expect.
