cant open google earth

running windows 10 and firefox
also have 2 screens
google earth worked fine
open it now it starts to do the opening globe for about 3 or 4 seconds then it just sits at the bottom off the screen as the icon it will flash back to the firefox icon as if to say its open on the other screen but its not there even when minimizing all windows on both screens
have tried full removal and reinstall still no good
have also tried double click and single click right and left on the small frame that appears above the icon on the bottom
the small screen that opens doesnt contain the google earth icon but a white screen too small to read that has some writing on it

I cannot offer a definite solution BA but I have had this happen a few times and reinstalling helped clear it. I leave my laptop on all the time and just let it sleep when not on use. Try Rightmove as the maps use Google Earth and this might prove accessibility. I find that after a while a of being on for long periods of use and sleep cycles a few things get funny so I do a restart and that seems to clear all the problems. I suggest clearing all your history and then go for a restart and see if this helps

Use ccleaner to uninstall it, it maybe leaving behind its cache or config files - I take it your running the latest update of firefox (if you have auto update on), when you reinstalled google earth was it a fresh download ?

It should be a standalone programme so not reliant on chrome

if you want to use the web based google earth you have to use chrome

Try this... Open CC Cleaner, click on "registry" then "scan" then "Fix selected/fix all" (assuming you have CC cleaner installed..)

Sometimes a missing/broken Dll link will be sorted by doing this.

ok just to update
nothing worked and no extra checks or alterations apart from a recent large windows update
have updated firefox avg and superantispyware but havent tried to open after each update so all some or none may have helped who knows
any way after not trying the link for over a month it works fine now
