AMD or Intel ?

Post by wine~o »

Looking to buy a replacement laptop, mainly watching you tube/browsing but with some basic video editing.

Found 2 that I like, identical spec apart from the processor.

Option 1 Intel i3 7020 U

Option 2 AMD Ryzen 3 3300 U

Any idea which is the better processor from you knowledgeable people please ?

AMD or Intel ?

According to this benchmark the AMD is the faster of the two.

If you are going to do more video editing then an i5 and Ryzen 5 maybe better.

Either way an SSD hard drive provides for better disk performance for large read/writes when editing.

AMD or Intel ?

depends on your budget tbh, amd does have the edge but i do prefer intel, its the lower end where amd excels

A SSD and min of 8gb of ram is a must, if your just doing a basic render it will peg that

AMD or Intel ?

TBH, I've never found a great difference in the real world, not that was apparent anyway.
I've usually gone for AMD, although the laptop, ancient and slow now, is Intel.
As Bob says get one with an SSD and a minimum of 8gb.

SSD and 8gb ram take priority, but I have found that intel has the edge over the years...
