I think I might have a look at one of those as well. As you say Walt, the cable is a PITA on the corded ones. Especially when I only use it for a few seconds mostly.

I'll bet you'd just fitted a new blade as well?
It usually goes that way. It never seems to be one that's due to be changed anyway.

It is frightening when a band saw blade goes, I had one snap a few years ago and the broken end whipped around for a second.I jumped back quick I can tell you

TBH, as long as the guarding is properly in place, the fact that one going makes you jump is probably more likely to cause an accident than a blade going. Had a few go, but mostly I'd change them long before they went, as I needed accuracy for deep cuts, and worn blades don't do that.

It didn't snap (i have had one go tho) it took the tip off every tooth - blades are £15-30 1715mm x 1/2" I have been looking at Axminster tools Excalibur blades

On woodworking machines it's a device which ensures that the user can continue to count up to ten without removing boots and socks Walt.
