plunge saws and track saws

Post by kenrob »

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some info on track saws and I'm struggling to find on product pages. Basically, I've got a titan track saw with the makita rail system which I'm trying to upgrade to cordless. I've used the Fes, the Makita and the Dewalt in various workshops which have all been plunge track saws, I'm sure you're all familiar with these. However, I notice that some of the lastest standard circ saws come with the ability to run on tracks but I can't figure out how you find this out. So for example, the Bosch saws appear to run on their system but also have a groove in the baseplate that would allow them to run on a track? but which track? Does anyone have any info on this and / or photos? I don't ever need to plunge so a cordless circ saw that would run on track, would be perfect for what I need.

If I've missed other posts with this on, apologies, I'd be happy to be re-directed.

Thanks, Ken

Head over to Peter Millard/10 minute workshop on YouTube for quite a bit about saws and rails
