Sticky back magnets?
Sorry if wrong forum.
I fitted a built-in washing machine and a cupboard door that is supposed to close onto it.
I need a decent sticky back magnet to hold the door shut, but be I'm blowed if I can find one that is large enough.
any recommends for one, or a couple that will do the job, please?
wood door straight onto the metal wash machine

Sticky back magnets?
was it a propper integrated machine with hinges that attach to the machine and the door?
they should have came with a magnet to keep the door closed. you would be able to get the correct kit off ebay if you put the machine model number into ebay search

As coincidence would have it I bought these exact same magnets last week from that buyer. The guy has claimed he's in London which is a lie. He's in China. I've no problems buying stuff from China but I do have a problem being deceived.big-all wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 5:37 pm you can get very strong neodymium magnets with wood screw holes

After 7 days they still haven't arrived. I'll be returning them when they eventually arrive.

Sticky back magnets?
Thank you, guys.
I guess the reason there wasn't a magnet with the door is because I had the door left to me when we purchased the house.
@Mike.... The little round ones with a sticky back. I'm not so sure they'll be man/person :D enough for the job?
The ones that screw on might though if they are sold in the UK?

Don’t forget that the pull of the magnets that I put in the link is 0.6 kg PER magnet, so if you had say 8 magnets for the door then it would hold a 4kg door and that’s a lot of door!!foxleybob wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 1:10 pm Thank you, guys.

And these have a even greater pull https://www.first4magnets.com/circular- ... pull-p2581 and are bigger and thicker .
They also do the screw on type.

I bet they will cost you more to send them back than what you paid for them.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

You'd lose that bet then because the seller has falsely advertised the item as being located in the UK. So I'm entitled to a full refund without suffering financial detriment.someone-else wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 5:10 pmI bet they will cost you more to send them back than what you paid for them.

Well, they come in a pack of 10 so put on as many or all as you need. As long as they do the job and no one is going to see them so it doesn’t really matter.
Mike
Ps. If you are worried then buy slightly bigger magnets, they are not that expensive.

it can often be better to leave the magnets floating slightly not so much that the screw head can touch the metal but the magnet can adapt to the face off the metal then you will get 100% pull rather than as little as5- 10% on a perhaps 2degrees out
