pink stuff?

the tiler who did my bathroom gave me some pink "paint" to paint the walls before tiling. It was pink and felt kind of rubbery when dried. Any idea what it is?

More than likely a primer like BAL do but that is not rubbery, or SBR, Styrene Butadiene Rubber, which is a latex base, hence rubbery.
