Fitting new built in electric oven

Post by davej »

I'm thinking of fitting a new built in electric oven & hob. Space is a bit tight so instead of using a cabinet for the oven, could i fix shelves to the surrounding cabinets? Or are there heat issues meaning I have to have a new cabinet.

There are minimum spaces needed for built in ovens,
Your best bet is to figure out what dementions you have to play with, then see if there is a suitable sized oven that will go into that space, if you go to the oven manufacturers website you should be able to download an install manual which will give you the minimum clearences that will be needed for each model. (which includes clearences so you don't burn your house down) don't forget that built in ovens need to screwerld into the carcas too (otherwise there's a good chance you or someone else will pull the oven out of the carcas and onto yourself / themselves)
