Kenny, The Gadget Show showed how to do this using an EZ grabber (cost about £30), it will be shown again of Friday at 12.00 midnight.

As an aside I copy mine through my DVD recorder, not sure which is the optimum method for quality.

I'm about to do this myself actually.

What I intend doing is to connect the composite output of the VCR to the composite in of a TV card on the PC (suitable TV cards can be bought for around £30 and will then have a good use after you finished doing all the transfers).

Once you have the video on the PC, you can get as basic or as fancy as you like making a DVD with menus, cut stuff out, etc.

I use the EZ Gabber to copy my vhs tapes to dvd
I am using a philips vhs player connected to my pc.
Dont use the burning program which was supplied
it takes too long,Found a better free program on the web.

An alternative for the ultimatelylazyhandyman is Ebay, where you can find plenty of VHS to DVD services.

i would say use s-video if available as quality is higher than composite
also clean heads on the vcr help, some head cleaning fluid on a cottonbud / q-tip wiped on the tape head works wonders
