I have just changed from vista to windows 7 and now find there is no sound, well there is but its very low. I have looked on controll pannel and found it is on full, I have looked on the monitor sound icon on the screen and it too is on full.
I have checked that the sound plug is in the same plug hole as before at the rear of the computer and it is. There are three plug holes at the back and I have tried all three, one pink, one green, one blue. I am using the middle one which is green but as I say was used before. This is the only one that gives any sound but its very low and can be heard if you put your ear to it.
Can some one help please.

You probably need the drivers for your sound card updating.

You need to know the make of your sound card and then go to the makers website for the latest version. OR you could take the sound card out, re boot your pc, then switch it off. Put the sound card back and reboot, then it will see the sound card as new and ask for drivers or look for them itself

Try running Windows Update.

When it's open, look at "optional components". You may find that sound drivers are there, waiting for you to tick the box - much easier than trying to get the right ones....
