Hello!

I Have this wooden enclosure in my bedroom that contains the ventilation fan for my flat (see picture).

It makes a humming noise, I think a lot of it has to do with the wooden enclosure vibrating, but obviously the fan emits noise on it's own also.

I'd like to know if anyone has any tips to reduce the noise slightly? I don't have a great deal of money so something cheap and simple would be preferable if that's at all possible(?).

Any advice appreciated.

Hmm, how long is a piece of string? Try:

Undo the screws and take the front off, get some sheet foam rubber (or similar) glued to the inside face, put it back up.

See what you've got inside... be careful that what you do doesn't block the airflow.... stuff old pillows in the gaps.

Fascetiously: switch it off. Put it on a timer at night.
