Hi All

We have been having a problem with one of the cars, vauxhall corsa 54 plate.

To cut a long story short, water is leaking in when it rains and is coming from above the pedals on the drivers side. It seems to be coming in from under the bonnet somehow but we are not sure where as very random. Sometimes when it rains there is nothing and sometimes there is a puddle of water in the bottom of the footwell.

We have removed the carpet and sound protection and before we remove all the windwiper block to test where it is coming from I thought I would post on here and see if anyone has heard/experienced this problem themselves.

We have contacted vauxhall and the said that our car wasn;t recalled at any point but they would be happy to look at it (and charge a small fortune). I have a friend who is a mechanic and he is going to strip everything out and see if can tell where coming from but, as mentioned previously, thought would see if we can save time and effort if someone on here as knowledge of this in the past.

Thanks

:dunno: Never had a Corsa...though most likely to be a problem around the windscreen seals I'd have thought..

We had the same problem (not on a corsa) Took me ages to find it. Water ran out of a drain hole in the scuttle panel (under the windcreen,) running along the back of the inner wing, and through strengthening ribs, finally coming down above the pedals and pooling into the footwell.

Stripped the seats out, carpets, arch liners, and various other bits.

Is it deffinatly only when it rains? Could rule out heater pipes( not sure on the setup in a corsa)

Other thing, i assume its got a heavy rubber gromet where the steering shaft goes through the bulkhead, is that seated properly?

Could be as simple as a blocked drain hole under the scuttle panel...this causes water to gather which then breaches a seal somewhere else.

I had this problem with a Cortina once and it was almost impossible to find where the water was entering. I punched two holes at the drivers footwell to allow the water to escape as I got in one day and there was two inches of water at my feet!

Good luck with finding the leak

Hi

Thanks for the replies.

It is definatly only when it leaks. It hasn;t got a carpet in at the moment whilst trying to sort it. I have also got a hole in the footwell to let standing water out.

I will try all the suggestions mentioned above.

Thanks again
