I’ve flushed all the radiators and pipework and there is no flow restriction. I have also flushed the boiler and the filter to the diverter valve. So all seems good on the flow and return.

The boiler had a new circulation pump fitted in December as the old one was knackered.

Okay this is what is happening.

The central heating temperature on the boiler is set to 70C

The room hard wired room stat is calling for heat.

The boiler fires up and slowly the boiler temperature reaches 70C and then continues up to 75C before going into S7 Pump over run.

If you set the boiler central heating to 60C then it will go to 65C and then S7.

So pump over run carries on until the boiler temperature is 15C below the temperature you had set the boiler to, then it will fire back up and start heating up. This cycle is repeated until the room stat cuts off once the room is at the desired temperature.

This isn’t normally how this boiler functions?

Sounds like heat exchanger is blocked. Reasonably common on these.

Check d40 & d41 whilst boiler is firing.
