Hi

Just wondering of anyone can help me with how to top up the pressure on my boiler.

I have a Vaillant Ecotec Plus 637 boiler and a Santon Premier Plus unvented hot water system and tonight the code F22 has appeared on the boiler and the pressure is low, 0.3bar.

There are no tap heads underneath the boiler. Can I top up the pressure using pliers, or is there a reason that they are not provided with this particular set up?

I've attached a picture of the pipes under the boiler.

Thanks

Susan

No picture showing. I will guess its too big. For info on how to re size / add pictures, see note in my signature.

See if this helps.

Not sure it's the exact same boiler in the pics, but it may give you some pointers.

Topping up the water is not difficult, it's just a question of opening the right valve/valves and keeping an eye on the pressure gauge.

The silver braided hose is your filling loop.

From the angle of your pic it looks as though it will need a flat bladed screwdriver to open one of the valves to let the water in, probably the one higher up under the boiler, or maybe the plastic knob has fell off.

The silver braided loop is connected to the CH return valve so do I just need to open that? The end is a square so I'd be able to turn that with pliers I think.

My main worry was whether I can top up as normal with the unvented heating or does that make no difference to how the boiler works?

Topping the boiler up has nothing to do with the unvented hot water cylinder.

Another pic of the top valve showing the 'square' bit would be helpful
