This is my first time post here.

My girlfriend recently closed our UPVC window and the next day when I tried to open it again it wouldn't open.

The key turns perfectly but when I depress the button to open it the handle siimply isn't turning.

We've never had any problems with it before.

The lock is the type made by Vitawin i.e. a handle lock with a button that you press to open and a keyhold in the middle of that button.

I've tried WD 40 and vaseline but that doesn't do anything. I tried to unscrew the lock but I can only get access to the top screw, the bottom screw is hidden behind the lock with access only available when the window is open.

We're a little tight on finances at the moment and I'm trying to avoid calling anyone out to have a look at it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

only kidding, i'm sure someone will be able to help you later, but I'm not sure.

Is it possible to take a digital pic and post it, showing the mechanism, It might help people to see how it is solved.

Any chance of sending a photo of the handle?
