Hi,

I have a couple of windows with condensation inside the glass so it looks like a broken seal.

This may be a daft question but does it cause heat loss at all?

Many Thanks

Yes, because it is now only secondary glazing, check the Guarantee.

Thanks.

I cannot check guarantee as windows were fitted by the past owners.

Is there much of a loss?

Guessing, I would say quite a bit, because they work by having a vacuum between the glass.

The loss is probably quite low.

Normal units do not have a vacuum they are just sealed. The air is trapped and so there is minimum movement and therefore minimum heat transfer.

Regards secondary double glazing, this is normally a better insulator as the distance between the glass units effects the performance. So a 28mm units is better than a 20mm unit - therefore secondary with a 150mm gap is better still - also better for noise reduction. The seals need to good though.
