No difference. I had actually misread your original post

Swapping the double socket at the back of the cooker for another cooker switch with a built in socket is IMHO a suitable way to proceed. Use the socket with a 3A fuse for the hob ignition.

No worries.

And thanks, but what about the advice i had ref option 2 (on original post):

"Advice #2 man says 4KW needs to be dedicated & not have anything else running off it as well - albeit the gas ignition is a small load and only used infrequently."

Is that being over-cautious then & it is al-right to do that (effectively Option #1 on orig post)?

he is a sparky to be fair but didn't "see" the job & so I may have confused him with bad terminology

So, just to be clear before i fry Mrs RSB: :angryfire:

I use the 6mm feed from the cooker control unit (one above the worktop with a red rocker switch and a 3 pin socket) see link below

and wire that to ano one just the same underneath.

i.e. One like this:

http://s7g3.scene7.com/is/image/ae235/23484_P?$p$

that is 3A rated and then hard wire the oven to the supply side and plug in the gas hob ignition.

Lastly, what size / rating cable do i use to the oven plse?

From the red switched unit that you linked to to one of these.

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electri ... 633/p87053

Then to the twin oven.

That's not what "OM" is saying above though is it ?

So if i go with one of these:

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/White+Wiring+Accessories/Cooker+Outlet+Plate+45amp/d190/sd2633/p87053

under the worksurface & behind the oven,

have i to get a completely different feed into a 3 pin socket for the gas hob from somewhere else?

Confuddled (again) sorry.

You have
http://s7g3.scene7.com/is/image/ae235/23484_P?$p$
on the wall feeding a double socket behind the cooker. You then replace the double socket for http://s7g3.scene7.com/is/image/ae235/23484_P?$p$ and wire the oven into the cooker terminals and plug the hob ignitor into the socket. Simple.

Cheers OM.

Seems a lot simpler than channeling out ano feed for a separate socket.

What cable (I know it'll need to be 3 core) do I need though from the lower socket to the oven?

Doesn't need to be 6mm into the oven as well does it?

If the oven manufacturer has not specified what sort of cable to use then I would use 2.5mm butyl flex eg http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CA ... ash50.html

That is rated at 25A and your oven will only draw 17.4A

Cheers OM.

Looking back at the above (I think) i still have two slightly contradictory options but thanks anyway - also for the flex info.

Cheers again.
