UHM has made a great video on the bosch dmf10 detector. Thanks a lot uhm for taking time and effort on making the video.

I had tried it a few times in the house with no success. One some walls it said the whole wall was live and so I set up a small stud partition and tried to test it out like they guy does in their promotional video, unfortunately it did not work out as I had hoped-

Bosch Blue are my preferred make of powertool as well, so this was really disappointing :cb

I'm glad it's not just me.
I'd be quite pee'd off if I'd paid the full £70 for one of these. Mine was from ebay, and I think was about £35

And the fact that it told you there was a stud where there was actually a live wire is just dangerous.

Mine seems to be overly cautious about live wires and just beeps most of the time.

Back to knocking on the plasterboard to find the studs then :)

I tried mine out at my mums house on a lath and plaster wall and it was indicating that the whole wall was live. I also tried a solid wall at a friends, to see if I could locate the cables and it did exactly the same!

I read somewhere that it can help with the "live wall" problem if you place the palm of your other hand on the wall being scanned.

I did try this and I think I got it to calm down a bit, but haven't used it in a while. I seem to remember wanting to throw it at the wall, but then remembered how much I paid for it and just put it back in it's pouch :)

Shame, cos if it was faulty I could get it replaced by bosch, but if they're all like that I can't see them doing a thing about it.

I love my other bosch tools though, 10 year old hammer drill (green) PMF180E and the 10.8v driver and impact.

Thanks UHM. This was very useful as I was contemplating buying one this week. Saved me ££. Cheers. :thumbright:
